One person was killed, and seven others were injured in a shooting accident near Fort Valley University's student campus, Georgia, US, media agencies reported on Sunday.
Authorities announced: "The GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) is investigating a shooting incident that happened at an off-campus party in Fort Valley, GA."
They added: "A total of eight people were shot. Of the eight people, one person has died." Later on, media agencies were informed that the dead victim is not one of the university's students.

Regarding the medical situation of the injured, all of them are in stable condition.
In the same context, the university suspended all public events scheduled on the following day, in addition, a lockdown was imposed on the university's campus for several hours.
Authorities now are looking forward to having the public's cooperation and assistance in identifying the shooter.
Until now, no suspect was detained or sent to custody over the accident.
