The World Health Organization expressed its deep concern that a large-scale military operation in Rafah would lead to seas of blood.

The organization said that more than 1.2 million people have taken refuge in this area, many of whom cannot move elsewhere.

The World Health Organization added that a new wave of displacement will cause worsening overcrowding and reduced access to food, water, health and sanitation services, which in turn will lead to increased disease outbreaks, increased hunger, and more lives lost.

The organization confirmed that as for the health system, only 30% of primary health care centers and 33% of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are currently functioning, and these facilities are working partially, under the weight of repeated attacks, and in light of the shortage of vital medical supplies and fuel and a shortage in numbers. staff.

The organization added: There are now three hospitals in Rafah that are partially operating: Al-Najjar Hospital, Al-Hilal Al-Emirati Hospital, and Al-Kuwait Hospital. Once the fighting intensifies in the vicinity of these hospitals, they will stop working and go out of service.

The World Health Organization called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the removal of obstacles preventing the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to and around Gaza at the required level.
