WHO Emergency Medical Teams Coordinator Sean Casey has confirmed that there is a dire need for humanitarian assistance, especially food, across Gaza, particularly in the northern areas.

In a video message recorded from Rafah in southern Gaza, he said that the food situation in the north is extremely terrible, and there is almost no food available.

According to Casey, people are begging for food, and everyone is asking, "Where is the food"? People are helping them to get their medical supplies through, but they are constantly telling them that they need to come back with food.

Meanwhile, Rik Peeperkorn, WHO Representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said that even if there is no ceasefire, there should be humanitarian corridors operating in a much more sustained way than what's happening now.

He added that the current situation is too little and too late, especially in the north.
