WHO Monitors 10% Decrease in Global Death Toll from Corona in 7 Days

The United Nations (UN) World Health Organization (WHO) monitored more than 4 million people infected with coronavirus across the world during the past week, and about 47,000 deaths. However, the number of deaths decreased by 10%, and infections with the deadly virus decreased by 5% compared to the previous week.

The epidemiological bulletin of the UN organization revealed a decline in the number of new infections and deaths during the past week, compared to the previous week, by 5% and 10%, respectively,” while during the period from December 6 to 12, 4,000.817 infections were recorded, and 46961 deaths.

Europe had reported 65% of the new confirmed cases of infections recorded in seven days and 60% of deaths, while a decrease in infections was observed by 7%, and the death rate decreased by 3%.

The organization also monitored a significant increase in the infection rate in Africa by 111%.

But the infections decreased significantly last week in America by 10%, in Southeast Asia by 10%, and in the Western Pacific region by 7%.

On the other hand, the death rate increased in the Western Pacific by 4% but decreased in Southeast Asia by 50%, America by 14%, the Eastern Mediterranean by 3%, and Africa by 1%.

The United States of America (USA) recorded the largest number of infections in a week (674,019), followed by Germany with 351,738, Britain 350,340, France 335,972, and finally Russia with 215,283 cases.
