The World Health Organization (WHO) said it had been compelled to cancel a mission to bring medical supplies to five hospitals in northern Gaza on Sunday after failing to receive security guarantees.
In a post on X, the WHO office in the occupied Palestinian territories said: “It has now been 12 days since we were last able to reach northern Gaza.”
WHO reaffirmed the need to bring urgently needed medical supplies to al-Awda Hospital and the central drug store in northern Gaza.
Rik Peeperkorn, WHO Representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said that even if there is no ceasefire, there should be humanitarian corridors operating in a much more sustained way than what's happening now.
