The Republic of Kazakhstan awarded Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Shawki Allam the "Medal of Shafa’a ‘Mediation’" for his efforts in promoting global peace.
The award came on the sidelines of the celebration held by Kazakhstan Republic on Sunday following the inauguration of Al-Zaher Baybars Mosque in Cairo after restoration.
The ceremony was attended by high-level Kazakh delegation included the Chairman of the Kazakh Senate, the Grand Mufti and the Head of the Religious Administration of Muslims in Kazakhstan, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Cairo. From Egypt, prominent Egyptian figures included the Grand Imam of Azhar Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Minister of Awqaf, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the Governor of Cairo, and a number of religious and executive leaders.
