Sisi Inspects Toshka, Attends Wheat Harvest Season's Begining

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, at dawn today (Thursday) made an inspection tour of Toshka in the South Valley in Aswan and witnessed the beginning of the wheat harvest season on Toshka’s agricultural lands.

The development process in Toshka is part of the state’s efforts to establish integrated agricultural societies with great economic returns. Such societies would help ensure food security, increase exports, make a breakthrough in agriculture, and provide thousands of job opportunities within a comprehensive development renaissance.

"Toshka project is the largest of its kind in the agricultural land reclamation sector in the Middle East," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

He added that it is one of the mega national projects that was a great success. Under the directives of President Sisi, the state bodies have succeeded to revive it by finding solutions to all the problems hindering the project from achieving its goals and to harness the potential for its success.

Tremendous efforts have been made to make this project a success in all aspects in terms of construction, infrastructure, and technicalities or with regard to providing irrigation water and energy sources, establishing axes to link the project to the national road network, as well as providing financial resources for all these elements.
