Sawsan Badr Shares Making of “Harper’s Bazaar” Photo Session

Egyptian actress Sawsan Badr shared with her audience a new of video of herself on her “Instagram” account from the making of her “Harper’s Bazaar” photo session.

The Egyptian actress posted on September 2nd photos from her latest photo session, taken for an editorial in “Harper’s Bazaar” Arabia magazine’s September issue.

“So thrilled to be featured in @harpersbazaararabia for the first time hope u guys will like it,” she captioned.

The session featured the artist standing beside Pharaonic statues inside a museum, highlighting the actress paranoiac features similar to Queen Nefertiti.

She appeared during the session, in more than one look, with simple make-up and hairstyle, which gained the admiration of her fans across the social network.

Many fans remarked about her looks in the comments, saying that she looked amazing.

The actress went viral on the internet after she posted the photo session, which was taken by a professional photographer, Tarek Moukaddem.

Moreover, social network users have launched hashtag “#Sawsan_Badr” on Twitter following her session.

On May 1, Egypt’s well-known Archaeologist Zahi Hawass talked about Sawsan’s facial features and describe her as “totally paranoiac”.

“Sawsan Badr is a Pharaonic Queen; 3,000x,” added Hawass, during his interview with Mohamed ElBaz on El-Mehwar Tv Channel.

Badr, Suzan Abu Taleb, is an Egyptian film, stage and television actress who was born on September 25, 1957.

She graduated from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1979, after discontinuing her studies in the faculty of science.

She appeared in many theater productions, including “Al Wad Sayyid Al Shaghal.”

She got her start in 1980 film British film “Mot Amira” (Death of a Princess) by British director Antony Thomas, which made quite a stir at the premiere in Britain, as it infuriated the Saudi Arabian government for its portrayal of the kingdom’s history.

Badr was blacklisted from Egyptian and Saudi television, and for this, she lost many roles directly following the film.

Though it made her very popular, she did try multiple times to leave Egypt, but finally decided on changing her name to Sawsan Badr.

She delivered a memorable performance in her second role in the 1980 film “Habibi Da’iman” (Always My Love) directed by Hussein Kamel.

She won the best actress award for the play “Al Ard La Tanbit Al Zuhur”, and for her role in the television series “Dawlat Fahmy” as well as a number of international awards for her role in “Al Dawair Al Mughlaqa” in 2001.

She received the Best Actress Award at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival. Badr was cast to play Nefertiti in Shady Abdel Salaam’s film about Akhnaton, though the great director passed away before finishing the movie.
