Sawsan Badr Joins Tamer Hosny's Film "Mesh Ana"

Renowned actress, Sawsan Badr has joined the cast of singer-actor Tamer Hosny's Film "Mesh Ana" (This is not me), which will begin shooting mid-December.

The film will be written by Honsy and directed by Sarah Wafik.

Hosny and the film director are holding sessions to select the rest of the cast, after production companies Synergy and Hossam Hosny signing with Maged El Kedwany, Hala Shiha, Sherine.

Badr is currently busy filming her new TV series "Khatt El Eid", which will also be produced by Synergy.

The series –consists of 45 episodes— also stars Ahmed Rizk, Eman Elassi, Yosra El Lozy, Myrna Nour El Din‏, Khalid Kamal Yaseen, Mohamed Hatem, and others.

It is written by  Hala Elzaghndi‏ and directed by Shery Adel.

Badr went viral on the internet last September after she posted her photo session for “Harper’s Bazaar” Arabia magazine’s, which was taken by professional photographer, Tarek Moukaddem.

The session featured the artist standing beside Pharaonic statues inside a museum, highlighting the actress paranoiac features similar to Queen Nefertiti.

She appeared during the session, in more than one look, with simple make-up and hairstyle, which gained the admiration of her fans across the social network.

Many fans remarked about her looks in the comments, saying that she looked amazing.

Badr, Suzan Abu Taleb, is an Egyptian film, stage and television actress who was born on September 25, 1957.

She graduated from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1979, after discontinuing her studies in the faculty of science.

She appeared in many theater productions, including “Al Wad Sayyid Al Shaghal.”

She got her start in 1980 film British film “Mot Amira” (Death of a Princess) by British director Antony Thomas, which made quite a stir at the premiere in Britain, as it infuriated the Saudi Arabian government for its portrayal of the kingdom’s history.

Badr was blacklisted from Egyptian and Saudi television, and for this, she lost many roles directly following the film.

Though it made her very popular, she did try multiple times to leave Egypt, but finally decided on changing her name to Sawsan Badr.

She delivered a memorable performance in her second role in the 1980 film “Habibi Da’iman” (Always My Love) directed by Hussein Kamel.

She won the best actress award for the play “Al Ard La Tanbit Al Zuhur”, and for her role in the television series “Dawlat Fahmy” as well as a number of international awards for her role in “Al Dawair Al Mughlaqa” in 2001.

She received the Best Actress Award at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival. Badr was cast to play Nefertiti in Shady Abdel Salaam’s film about Akhnaton, though the great director passed away before finishing the movie.
