Saudi Briefs UN about Effective Measures to Fight Coronavirus

Saudi Arabia stressed, on Tuesday, the need to consolidate the values of cooperation and build bridges of peace, in light of the spread of novel coronavirus, and the peoples’ suffering all over the world.

In his speech during the virtual high-level meeting of the group of friends of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi, said: “In recognition of its pivotal role and its international responsibilities, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been and continues to be at the forefront of countries seeking to strengthen international cooperation on this matter.”

“The Kingdom, the president of the G20 2020, has taken effective measures to address this health crisis, by holding an exceptional virtual summit of leaders of the G20 countries.”

Noteworthy, the virtual high-level meeting of the group of friends of the UN Alliance of Civilizations is held in New York via videoconferencing on the sidelines of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, under the title "Shaping a better world: Building cohesive and inclusive societies in the COVID-19 environment."
