Russia Ready to Build Nuclear Power Station in Kazakhstan

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced on Tuesday that Moscow is prepared to construct a nuclear power station using the latest technologies in Kazakhstan.

In an interview with the "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" newspaper, published on the Kremlin's website, Putin stated, "As is known, the leaders of the Republic of Kazakhstan are considering the construction of a nuclear power station on their territory."

Russian president Putin added that Rosatom is ready to develop the appropriate project using the latest technologies while respecting the highest environmental and safety standards.

This project will enhance Kazakhstan's energy supply, and provide a strong boost to economic and social development in the country,” according to Putin.

The Kremlin announced on Tuesday that Putin will make an official visit to Kazakhstan on November 9th to discuss key issues in Russian-Kazakh relations with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to the Kremlin's statement, the leaders will discuss the main issues of continuing the Russian-Kazakh strategic partnership, alliance relations, and prospects for interaction within the framework of integration in the Eurasian space, as well as current regional and international issues.
