‘Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture’ in collaboration with the ‘Fayoum Caricature Museum’ and ‘Egypt Cartoon Blog’ had organized ‘Tagore - Mahfouz Caricature’ competition in the month of April 2024. A total of 117 caricature entries featuring world's two great Nobel Laureates were received from Cartoonists from across the globe.

Rabindranath Tagore and Naguib Mahfouz, who are considered among the most influential and prominent novelists from India and Egypt, were awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 and 1988 respectively. While Rabindranath Tagore was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, Naguib Mahfouz was the first Egyptian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.

The Exhibition of Tagore - Mahfouz caricatures will be inaugurated by Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Ajit Gupte at MACIC premises in Zamalek, on 8 May 2024 at 4:30 pm.
