Khaled Galal Suffers Sudden Heart Attack

Theatre director Khaled Galal suffered Monday morning from a sudden heart attack. He was transferred immediately to a private hospital, where he is set to undergo cardiac catheterization.

Galal's wife revealed in a press statement that he suffered from a sudden heart attack while he was at home.

It is worth mentioning that Galal, born on November 3, 1963, is an Egyptian director, author, and actor.

He graduated from the Higher Institute for Theatrical Arts in Cairo and is considered to be one of the most prominent Egyptian theatre directors of his generation.

Galal has also founded an actor's studio, which witnesses a huge turnout from scores of young actors graduates who enter the theatre and film scene.

He has also directed numerous theatre plays, many of which were staged at the international theatre festivals, and has gained numerous awards throughout his career.

The director is also serving as head of the Cultural Production Affairs Sector and the Artistic Creativity Centre.

Galal's career is filled with many achievements, which included the play "Qahwa Sada" (Black Coffee) which was produced by the Actor's Studio and saw great success and multiple reruns following its premiere in 2008.

Many of Qahwa Sada's actors have become one of best actors working today in Egyptian theatre, cinema, and TV, which included Mohamed Farrag, Amir Salah Eldin, and Hisham Ismael.

Galal's most recent directing works include 2016 play "Welcome Ramadan" starring Mohamed Ramadan, 2017 play "Sallem Nafsak", 2018 play "The Visitor "(2018), 2019 play "The Trial", and 2019 "Cinema Masr" (Cinema of Egypt).

He is also known for his special appearance in 2004 movie "Tito", in 2003 movie "Thieves in Thailand", in 2010 TV series "Ayza Atgawez", and in TV series "Zohra w Azwagha El Khamsa".

The director is also known for writing 2012 movie "El-Anesah Mami", 2012 movie "Bartita", 2009 movie "Maklab Haramiya", 2006 movie "Tomn Dastet Ashrar", 2003 movie "Ma'ali al Wazir", and 1995 movie "El-Garage".
