On Sunday, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, held extensive discussions with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, within the framework of the ongoing consultation and coordination process regarding developments in the situation in Gaza.

On the sidelines of the special meeting of the World Economic Forum hosted by Saudi Arabia, Al-Safadi and Fidan discussed efforts to stop the war raging in the Gaza Strip, ensure the protection of civilians, and deliver adequate and sustainable aid to all parts of the Strip.

Al-Safadi stressed that the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, is the only way to protect the region from the escalation of the conflict, and to ensure security and peace for the Palestinians, Israel, and the entire region.
