On Friday, Iran showcased three ballistic missiles at an outdoor prayer esplanade in central Tehran, as discussions in Vienna to revive Tehran's nuclear accord with international powers stalled.

According to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the missiles, named Dezful, Qiam, and Zolfaghar, have official ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) and are already-known versions.

Diplomats from the nations that remained in the 2015 nuclear deal — the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, and China — are attempting to resurrect the agreement, which aimed to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.

Although American diplomats are present in the Vienna nuclear talks, they are not in close contact with Iranian officials. The agreement came to an end in 2018 when then-President Donald Trump unilaterally pulled the US out of the agreement and re-imposed sanctions on Iran.

The missiles on show, according to Iranian official media, were the same types used to attack US positions in Iraq.
