FM, Malaysian Counterpart Discuss Ways to Boost Blateral Ties

Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry met on Sunday, his Malaysian counterpart Mohamed Hassan on the sidelines of  World Economic Forum in Riyadh, within the framework of the friendly relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Shoukry reaffirmed  historic relations between Egypt and Malaysia, praising the positive momentum witnessed in Egyptian-Malaysian relations in recent years, including the visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) to Egypt and his meeting with Egypt's President in October of last year.

Both FMs also affirmed the common desire to continue strengthening the frameworks of joint cooperation, underlining the importance of giving a boost to various aspects of bilateral relations, especially the economic and commercial component and the extended cultural relations between the two countries.

On the economic level, Shoukry stressed Egypt's aspiration for Malaysian investors to benefit from the distinguished investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, pointing out that Egypt's distinguished geographical location makes it a regional center for trade and export in its regional surroundings.
