Artist Nagwa Mahdy inaugurated a new exhibition under the theme of "Gemstones, Silver Tales" at Ragheb Ayad Hall in Gezira Art Center. The exhibition will last until November 30.

Madhy is one of the most innovative artists in this field as her designs are various, and her combination between gemstones and silver reflects her creativity and imagination.

Her designs also resonate with fashionable trends with the spirit of society and culture which asserts the position of this art in society.

Mahdy said that her designs for jewelry represent her continued passion and love for gemstones, especially silver (Lojain in Arabic). The word "Logjin" has magical sounds in Arabic, and it means liquid silver.

The word and silver reflect the harmony in design, in addition, some of the exhibited works are similar to abstract art.

She added that she keeps the natural formation and colors of the gemstones and more natural formation for silver to indicate the early known designs of accessories and jewelry with the spirit of contemporary arts.

Her vision is a balanced vision of the aesthetics and innovation of the artist which represents the real essence of every piece as a reflection of the personality, not just an accessory.

The exhibits are displayed on pieces of wood which highlight the spirit of nature in the event.

She also exhibited the raw material of her works at the entrance of the exhibition to give the visitors a background about the nature of art, and her talent to convert the material into pieces of art.
