Egypt's Wins 2018's Best Theater Performance Award in Al- Sharjah

CAIRO, Mar. 21 (SEE)- Dr. Inas Abdul Dayem, Minister of Culture, participated in the ceremony of receiving "Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Award" for the best Arabic theater performance 2018; Egypt won this award for the first time

This was announced during the opening ceremony of the 29th edition of Al-Sharjah Theater Day.

The event was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, ruler of Sharjah, and the award was given to the director Nasser Abdul Moneim, who ascended to 'Beit Al Naboodah' theater carrying the flag of Egypt; followed by presenting " Al- Tok Wa Al Eswera "play.

The Egyptian personalities that took part in the event included: Khaled Jalal, Head of Cultural Production Sector, Ismail Mukhtar, Head of the Artistic Theater House, Director Essam El Sayed and Shady Sorour, Director of Al Taliaa Theater .

Abdel Dayem said that the celebration of the "Ring And Bracelet- Al- Tok Wa Al Eswera" play in Al- Sharjah reflects the value and place of Egypt in the heart of the Arab world and highlights its leadership based on a long history of creativity.

She added that the art of theater is one of the means of expression that does not take mediators with the audience and Egypt is proud of its creators. She also pointed to the importance and impact of Egypt's soft power in shaping the conscience and identity of our Arab citizens.

It is worthy to note that "Al- Tok Wa Al Eswera" was written by Yahya al-Tahir Abdullah, the new vision of the play by Dr. Sameh Mehran, directed by Nasser Abdel-Moneim and produced by the Theater Artistic House - affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.
