Egypt’s “Educate Me Foundation” Wins UNESCO-Hamdan Pri

The Egyptian “Educate me Foundation” won UNESCO-Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers. “Educate me Foundation” Executive Director Christine Safwat received the award.  Safwat is an Egyptian young German University in Cairo graduate who was recognized as one of the top 20 young leaders in Africa in 2017 due to her effective role in community service.

During her “Educate me Career,” Safwat had different positions in the foundation until she was named as the Executive Director of the foundation. After the winning “Educate me Foundation,” Egypt becomes the first Arabic country to win this prestigious prize in the community service field.

In the same context, the foundation has been recognized regionally, and internationally.

Closing the huge education gap through decreasing education dropout in Egypt is Safwat’s main target since her college years at GUC where she received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Networks Engineering. She previously worked as a researcher and lecturer assistant at the same university. Her research talents enhanced her skills. She has also published her research works through various conferences. She published her research works through various conferences in Germany, France, South Korea, and Egypt, and co-chaired and organized many educational conferences in Egypt. In addition, she was one of the founders of the CISCO Networking Academy at the GUC.
