In Fares village of Kom Ombo central in Aswan, the governor of Aswan, Ashraf Attia, confirmed on Tuesday that the present time will see the start of the implementation of a new solar energy station with a capacity of 500 MW in Africa.

The station is being built on a 10,000 m2 plot of land over the course of 18 months. In September 2024, it will start supplying its output to the one national electrical system, according to Attia.

According to Attia, the new Fares solar energy project would create about 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, which is consistent with the authorities' coordination to ensure the success of the solar power station implementation process.
