CAIRO, Aug 13 (SEE) - Egypt and China inked an agreement under which a grant worth 45 million dollars should be allocated for launching MisrSat 2, Egypt's second remote sensing Earth observation satellite, according to MENA news agency.

Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Song Aiguo signed the agreement at the Investment and International Cooperation Ministry premises in the presence of Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.

"The grant reflects strategic ties between Cairo and Beijing, especially in the field of information technology and scientific research," Nasr said.

"China will share its know-how in the field of satellites with the aim to serve research projects in Egypt," the minister noted.

Meanwhile, Abdel Ghaffar said that the signed agreement came as a result of the cooperation between the two ministries, adding that the project includes training Egyptian cadres on remote sensing in China.

Aiguo hailed the deep and historical relations with Egypt, noting that more Chinese investments will be flowing into the Arab country in the coming stage.
