Brigitte Macron Visits Giza Pyramids

CAIRO, Jan. 28 (SEE) - On the sideline of the French President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Egypt, today his wife Brigitte Macron visited the pyramids where she was received by the Pyramids Zone’s General Director Ashraf Mohy.

On an almost two-hour tour, Mohy accompanied her at Cheops’ Pyramid, the Sphinx, and the Giza Pyramids’ Panorama. She was a given a detailed explanation about the monumental site’s history, the project aimed at reducing the underground water’s level at the zone, the Sphinx’s restoration, and the actions implemented to develop the zone.

Brigitte Macron was keen on taking memorial photos in front of the Sphinx and at the Panorama.

Tour guide Fatma Abd Alla, who accompanied Macron’s wife, commented: “She was fascinated by the ancient Egyptian civilization and the ability of Egyptians to build such great pyramids,” adding that “She took memorial photos with some Egyptian visitors and some tourists from different nationalities.”
