"Boutisane'' Studies Marginalized Literature at War Torn Afghanistan

CAIRO, Feb .19. (SEE) – In the midst of comprehensive cultural marginalization amid Afghanistan's political conflicts and religious extremism, ''Osman Boutisane '' chose Afghan literature as a specialty in his literary research.

"Boutisane " confirmed, "Afghanistan is the key to Central Asia, and has seen a very long history spanning centuries, we should not forget and this region is a point of clash civilizations and the meeting of ideas. However, the political considerations set by the United States is linking Afghanistan to terrorism, El Qaeda and the obscurantist Taliban as well as the practice of types of violence on the Afghan people, especially women."

He explained, "This is the main reason for the delay and instability of Afghanistan, it was natural that the first topics of Afghan literature is the literature of resistance as is the case for the literature in the Arab world during the colonial period, to defend social issues." Thanks to cinema, translation, the migration of writers and Afghan journalists who settled in India, China, Europe and Asia, the world began to pay attention to that country".

He added that the selection of Afghan literature as an academic subject is due to the continuous search for new research on forgotten literature, as is the case with the modern Afghan literature.

The aim is to introduce it, then to try to get rid of this stereotype and highlight its importance as other world literature. In addition to that, Afghan issues form a new material for the global reader, who finds that Afghanistan has a global literature woven from the daily suffering and the blood of ongoing war as well as religious and ethnic intolerance .

''Afghan'' literature is featured by originality as a new area of discovery and the Afghan writers are often working on the poetry language, pluralism and genres.

The Afghan texts are woven around the double textual overlap and multilingualism, as well as Afghan literature is consider a part of Persian literature, Iranian and Pakistani.

To find out the origin of these texts, which make Afghan writers to invoke Iran, Pakistan and India in their work away from the geographical proximity and common history, in addition to the Indian culture, which is strongly present in Afghanistan, especially in terms of cinema, dancing, cooking and art line.

He stressed that all the Afghan writers and journalists who prefer exile to murder or imprisonment are heading to Pakistan as the first exile before traveling to Iran or India, and announced that he continuous contact with the Afghan intellectuals residing in France, Belgium and the United States through Facebook. This move shorten distances and make the this dialogue possible. The writers include: Ateeq Rahimi, Sayed Bahaa El- Din Magrouh, Mohamed Hussein Mohamedi, Shibnam Zriab, Spogmay Zriab, Mohamed Zaman Khan, Nadia Hashemi, Latifa, Khorsao Mani, Khaled Hosseini, Yalda Rahimi, Nadia Angman, Qais Akbar Omar and Fateh Imam.

"Boutisane " is currently preparing a translation project with some Afghan writers, as well as preparing a dictionary for Afghan authors, which will be the first of its kind to introduce Afghan writers and their works.
