Bahrain International Circuit celebrates "20 years of making history" for Formula 1 races.

The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is set to kick off as the opening round of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.

It will also be the first night race in Bahrain, which will make it even more exciting for the weekend festivities.

Bahrain International Circuit will also host the three-day official pre-season practice sessions from February 21 to 23.

Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sirrifi, Minister of Tourism in Bahrain said, "It is a special day on the agenda of events in the Kingdom of Bahrain, not only sports, but also tourism and entertainment. There is no doubt that the launch of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2024 once again confirms the Kingdom's leadership in hosting Formula 1 races."

During the launch ceremony, the official logo for this year's race was revealed, "20 Years of Making History." It highlights the status of the Bahrain Grand Prix today as a leading and fan-favorite race on the Formula 1 calendar.

Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain International Circuit said,"The idea of the modern classic race reflects the fact that Bahrain International Circuit is a modern circuit, but at the same time, it has created 20 years of Formula 1 history in the Middle East, which we are proud of.  I believe that there are many of our fans who may find it hard to believe that our 20th race is launching, as we are seen as one of the "new" Grands Prix. However, we are honored to be among the first in the generation of modern circuits, and the first in the Middle East, and we have had the opportunity to contribute to making 20 years of Formula 1 racing heritage."

Sheikh Salman and Captain Walid Al-Oliwi, CEO of Gulf Air, unveiled the 2004 and 2024 Formula 1 show cars during the launch ceremony.

These cars will also be displayed at various locations throughout the Kingdom in the lead-up to the Grand Prix, as part of a promotional campaign being organized by Bahrain International Circuit to add more excitement leading up to the historic race.

For his part, Captain Walid Al-Oliwi, CEO of Gulf Air said,"We are delighted to be the main sponsor of this premier international event for motor racing. With Bahrain completing 20 years of hosting this global race, we celebrate the success that this race has achieved on both social and sporting levels, with the participation and support of fans and followers of this sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and visitors coming from all over the world."

Bahrain International Circuit will also host the pre-season Formula 1 practice sessions from February 21 to 23 at Bahrain International Circuit.

The three days of on-track testing will be the only opportunity for Formula 1 teams and drivers to test their cars before the start of the new 2024 season, which will start just one week after the tests.

Bahrain International Circuit will announce more details soon about spectator attendance for the tests and entry to the circuit to get a glimpse of the new cars and Formula 1 champions during the tests.

Sheikh Salman announced that the corporate suites at the circuit have been completely sold out for this year's Formula 1 race.

He also praised the strong demand for early offers for Bahrain Grand Prix tickets. After announcing the complete sell-out of tickets for last year's race, he expects them to sell out again this year.
