Bahrain will launch a document on Education Development in the Arab world under the slogan "Bahrain the gateway to the development of education in the Arab world"

The initiative is under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Kingdom's Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training.

The conference will be organized by the Arab Parliament (AP) on 1 and 2 June 2022, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Bahrain.

A number of dignitaries at the level of heads of national parliaments in the Arab States, representatives of Arab and international organizations and civil society institutions concerned with education will participate at the event.

On this occasion, Adel Bin AbdulRahman Al Asoomi, President of the Arab Parliament, paid tribute to the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, to the education sector.

He affirmed that it was one of the main pillars of His Majesty’s reform project, and commended the great interest of the distinguished government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in the education sector and its development.

Al Asoomi added that the “Document on Education Development in the Arab world” was the result of a major effort by the AP over the course of a full convening session in cooperation with a group of high-level partners in the preparation of the document.

He also asserted that it serves as a strategic plan and vision for the development of the educational system in the Arab world in keeping with cultural changes, the information revolution and technological developments under the fourth industrial revolution and the changes of the jobs of the future, as well as life changes imposed by the global Coronavirus pandemic.

It is worth mentioning that the AP has prepared this document in cooperation with a group of partners, including the League of Arab States, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), the Association of Arab Universities and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, with the aim of establishing a high-quality Arab education system at all stages in line with global changes.
