Pakistani security forces killed six terrorists and raided their hideout following intense gunfire exchange during an intelligence operation conducted Saturday night in North Waziristan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani Army, there was intense gunfire exchange between the Pakistani Army and the terrorists during the operation, as reported by The Nation, a Pakistani newspaper, on Sunday.

The slain terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, including targeted killings of innocent civilians in the region.

The statement added, "Security forces are conducting a clearance operation in the area and remain committed to eliminating the terrorist threat in the region."

In Quetta, an explosion occurred near the Sultan Ibrahim Khan Road area in the Khuzdar town of Pakistan, resulting in the death of three individuals, including the head of the Khuzdar Press Club, and injuring eight others.

The explosion occurred near the vehicle of the journalist, Muhammad Sadiq, as he was crossing the road towards Khuzdar University, where he was killed instantly, according to The Nation on Saturday.

The body of the journalist and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where two of them succumbed to their injuries sustained during the initial medical treatment.

A few months ago, unknown gunmen had opened fire on the local journalist, Muhammad Sadiq, but he survived the attack.

It is speculated that the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled bomb. The relevant authorities are conducting further investigations to uncover the circumstances of the explosion.

Meanwhile, three militants from a banned terrorist organization were killed during an operation conducted by security forces in the Tangi area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwest Pakistan.

A statement issued by the Pakistani Army's media administration clarified that the operation was carried out by security forces based on intelligence information regarding the movements of individuals affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group.

The three terrorists were eliminated during an exchange of gunfire after they refused to surrender.
