It is worth mentioning that various parts of Cairo and other governorates have witnessed Thursday a spell of unstable weather, including heavy rains, thunder, and lighting.

This unstable wave will lead to severe changes in the weather of the country starting from Thursday, till Saturday.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) report noted that heavy rains are expected to hit the coastal cities and Lower Egypt. Thunderous rains, possibly reaching flood levels, are expected in Sinai, Suez Gulf’s cities, and southern the country.

EMA also pointed to strong winds that raise dust and sand across the country, urging citizens to be careful during this weather.

On the other hand, Egypt’s General Administration of Traffic has announced Thursday the closure of seven roads due to bad, and unstable weather conditions across the country’s governorates.

The roads include “Qena/Luxor”, “Qena/Suhag”, “Qena/Nagaa Hamadi”, “Assuit/Al-Kharga”, “Al Wahat Al Baharia/ Al Farafra” and “Paris/ Al-Kharga”.

The aim of the closure is to prevent accidents due to heavy winds that resulted in reduced visibility.
