Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane expressed his frustration after his team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mallorca in a La Liga clash on Saturday night, October 19, away from home.

A sickening performance that saw Real Madrid lose first game in 2019-20 La Liga campaign, and the top spot to defending champions Barcelona, who claimed a 3-0 away win over Eibar earlier in the day.

"That's the difficulty, we don't do it. "I won't say that I'm worried because I don't like the word, but if we want to win something this season, we need consistency,” he stressed.

The encounter saw Real Madrid without most of their top stars through injury, but the French manager, who was not ready for any excuses, insists they could have done better, with the quality they paraded. "The injuries aren't an excuse," Zidane added.

"There are players who aren't injured, we have more good payers too. "When it comes to their turn, they have to show that they're at the level to be here. "We can't do anything about the injured players,” noted Zidane, who refused to admit that Los Blanos were caught off guard by Mallorca fantastic start to the contest.

"We can't be surprised by a team playing in their own stadium, we knew what would happen," he said. "They surprised us because they scored, but then they backed down and we didn't find a solution,” Zidane submitted.
