Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine is prepared to pursue a diplomatic path to end the ongoing war with Russia.

In a statement reported by Al-Qahira News, Zelensky affirmed Ukraine's readiness to engage in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin if necessary.

The Ukrainian leader also revealed that the war’s death toll has surpassed 45,000, while the number of wounded has reached approximately 390,000.

He emphasized the importance of European involvement in any negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.

Zelensky’s remarks come amid continued hostilities and efforts by international mediators to broker peace. The Ukrainian government has previously insisted that any negotiations must be based on Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

As the war continues to take a heavy toll, diplomatic efforts are gaining renewed urgency. However, the feasibility of direct talks between Kyiv and Moscow remains uncertain, given the deep-seated tensions and ongoing military operations.
