Zamalek secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Pyramids in a top-of-the-table Egyptian Premier League clash at Cairo International Stadium, moving into first place in the title phase standings.

The decisive moment came in the 84th minute when Juan Bezerra found the net after a precise assist from Chico Banza, sealing a late win for Zamalek in a tightly contested encounter.

Zamalek controlled large parts of the first half and created several chances, threatening the goal of Pyramids goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy through attempts from Nasser Mansi and Abdallah El-Said.

Pyramids were forced into an early substitution in the 13th minute after Osama Galal suffered a muscle injury, with Mahmoud Marei coming on as his replacement. The team thought they had taken the lead in the 36th minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside by referee Mohamed El-Ghazi.

With this result, Zamalek moves to the top of the league table with 49 points from 22 matches, having recorded 15 wins, four draws, and three defeats.

Pyramids, meanwhile, drops to second place with 44 points from 22 games, following 13 wins, five draws, and four losses.
