Women of Gold activities were launched within the 11th edition of Miss Elegant, which is being held for the third time in Egypt after the success of the last session and its previous sessions between the Emirates and Sudan.
The Sudanese fashion designer Zainab al Noor said that each designer presented between 4 and 6 pieces around which a story revolves about the country's heritage, in addition to designs inspired by gold to reflect the spirit of the Women of Gold forum. It also included a diverse collection of Sudanese heritage.
Al Nour added: During the event, the world's most expensive gold dress was displayed, which was gold studded in 500 grams of 21-karat gold, estimated at about 2.2 million Egyptian pounds.
The designer added that the dress took about 20 hours of handcraft to produce the most expensive Sudanese dress in the world from Egypt "Mother of the World".
This fashion show came in the presence of Egyptian fashion designer Marwa Al-Baghdadi as a guest of honor, and from Sudan designers Amna Mohi El-Din, Fatina Abdel Karim Wathba, Amima Ali Suleiman, Ibtisam Al-Arbab, Shaza Al-Mahi, Balabel Al-Douh, Aida Ahmed, Sylvia (Zeina), Alaa Mahgoub and Ala Al-Ghanem, and a distinguished participation from Opera House Jewelry.
It is worth noting that the previous sessions of Miss Elegant were revived by the Emirati artist Balqis Fathi in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, who spoke about the Sudanese heritage and wore the Sudanese dress for the first time.
