Renowned Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities said that Africa's Kushites, who ruled Egypt during the 25th dynasty, didn't build pyramids.
"No Africans built the pyramids because Kushites didn't exist at the period when the pyramids were built," Hawass affirmed.
He also noted that saying the construction of pyramids was done by Black Africans is baseless.
His remarks came in response to Kevin Hart's comments about ancient Egypt's civilization.
In the same connection, Hawass confirmed that he is ready to illustrate Egyptian history to Kevin Hart, saying: "I am ready to meet him and explain to him that pyramids were built by the Egyptian pharaohs."
Hawass continued: "I was about to give a lecture in Philadelphia, and a day before that I held a television interview, in which I dismissed the notion that Egyptians are Black Africans despite our presence in Africa."
Earlier, the American comedy actor Hart said in a statement: “We must teach our children the true history of black Africans when they were kings in Egypt…"
