Yemen has given an early warning to Saudi Arabia at the start of their Asian cup qualifying campaign for the 2022 World Cup, where they drew 2/2 in the second round of Group D matches in the second stage of the qualifiers.

The match was held today in the Bahraini capital Manama because of the ongoing crisis in Yemen.

The Yemeni team got a valuable point against Saudi Arabia to raise their tally to two points in third place in the group, one point behind the Palestinian national team, who lost 1/2 to Singapore earlier in the day, singling out Singapore to lead the group with four points.

Yemen scored two goals with Mohsen Qarawi and Omar Dahi scoring twice in the 8th and 37th minute and Saudi Arabia tied twice with Hattan Sultan Bahabri and Salem Al Dosari in the 23rd and 48th minute.

Despite the difference in capabilities and experience, the Saudi team failed to win as the team lost two easy points in the beginning of their qualifying campaign under the leadership of his new French coach Herve Renard, who led the team a few days ago to draw 1-1 with Mali in a national friendly.
