Lebanese superstar, Yara broke her silence on her extended hiatus from music and the media appearance in a recent interview.

“I'm known for my media appearance, and I love to have something new to speak about when I appear,” she explained to SBC.

She added, “I know I fall short of reasons and circumstances.”

“I recently made a Lebanese and Egyptian album and was set to release it in Eid al-Fitr, but unfortunately the album will not be during Eid, to be honest, I feel the atmosphere is not good, and people are not comfortable.”

She added: “I previously presented a Lebanese album after Coronavirus, and it did not succeed as I expected. I'm not convinced to release the album at this time, as I like any work I present not to go unnoticed.”

Carla Nazih al-Berkashi, born on June 1, 1983, is known professionally by the mononym as Yara. She is one of the most talented vocalists in Lebanon and the Middle East.

The pop star won the music competition broadcast on LBC “Kass el-Nojoum” in 1998. She was discovered by Lebanese composer Tarek Abou Jaoudeh, who later became her producer and had also chosen her stage name.

Jaoudeh composed most of the superstar’s first singles, including “Hob Kabeer“. Her first album, ” Twassa Feyi ” was released in 2005.
