Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday that China hopes to work with Egypt to achieve "greater stability" in the Middle East, amid rising tensions in the region between Israel and Palestinians.
Chinese President's remarks came duri g his meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly in Beijing.
"China is ready to enhance cooperation with Egypt... and promote greater stability in the region and the world," Xi said, according to Chinese state television.
"China and Egypt are good friends who share goals and trust each other, and good partners who work in harmony for common development and prosperity," Chinese president added.
He also expressed China's willingness to work with Cairo to "jointly uphold international justice, as well as the common interests of developing countries."
