The World Bank said on Thursday that it is willing to provide immediate support to Ukraine's government, including options, as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the development lender assess the economic fallout amid a Russian full-scale operation in Ukraine.

"We stand ready to provide immediate support to Ukraine and are preparing options for such support, including fast-disbursing financing," World Bank President David Malpass said in a statement, adding that the fund is "horrified by the shocking violence and loss of life" in Ukraine.

on Saturday, Malpass told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that the bank was preparing a $350 million disbursement to Ukraine by the end of March.

The bank is also coordinating with the IMF to assess the economic and social costs of this conflict.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva also said that she was deeply concerned about the conflict in Ukraine, which in her own words 'adds significant risks for the world'.
