The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announced the start of the first seasonal winter sale for the year 2022, starting Monday, February 7, and for a period of a month, provided that each store has only two weeks.

Abdel Moneim Khalil, Head of the Internal Trade Sector said that the ministry aims to participate in 4,000 stores in the winter sale during the current season; compared to about 3,500 stores during the last season.

Khalil explained that based on the directives of Ali Al-Moselhi, the Minister of Supply, all supply directorates will provide facilities to the shops that wish to participate in the sale, by obtaining entry permits for the winter sale season.

He added that, according to the ministerial decision, each store will have the opportunity to offer discounts on the goods available to it for a period of 15 days from the total period of the sale specified for a whole month.

He stressed the need for stores to announce real discounts on the goods offered in them to prevent legal accountability in the event of fake offers and discounts being offered on various goods and products.

Khalil indicated that the marketing season in general, whether summer or winter, is a good opportunity to promote the movement of trade in the markets, in addition to disposing of goods in stores by selling them after offering discounts on them, noting that this year's discounts in the winter season may reach 60% on clothes, household items, bags and shoes.

There are many mandatory steps for shops that wish to participate during the winter sale for the current year 2022.

The Ministry of Supply also obligated all stores that obtained a permit to hang a copy of the sale participation permit at the entrance to the store.
