Wikipedia Releases Top 25 Viewed Pages in 2023

On Tuesday, Wikipedia released a list of the top 25 most-viewed pages in 2023. This list reflects the interest of the audience in 2023.

Wikipedia received more than 84 billion views so far in 2023, according to CNN.

OpenAI’s virtual chatbot ChatGPT is at the top of the list this year, gaining more than 49.4 million page views.

ChatGPT set a record for the fastest-growing user base this past February, with 100 million active users in January.

Anusha Alikhan, chief communications officer at the Wikimedia Foundation told CNN“It’s clear that people wanted to better understand the history and the context behind ChatGPT’s technology as they experimented with it."

The list also includes the pages of 2023 Cricket World Cup, the Indian Premier League, and the movie “Oppenheimer.”

More film pages are featured on the list like two Indian films “Jawan” and “Pathaan” attracting more views than highly-grossing US films like “Barbie” and “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

The list carried figures in sports, entertainment, and business like Taylor Swift, Elon Musk and Lionel Messi.

The pages of the actors and artists who passed away saw high-traffic
