The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the arrival of an aircraft carrying about 29 tons of medical supplies in Benghazi, Libya.

According to WHO, the new shipment of medical supplies will meet the healthcare needs of nearly 250,000 people and will aid in supplying over half of the healthcare facilities in the affected regions, as stated in a press release by the organization.

WHO emphasized that the top priority now is to resume hospital and healthcare center services and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

It was noted that there are still more than 9,000 people missing in Derna.

Hurricane Daniel struck the eastern coast of Libya, affecting cities including Benghazi, Al Bayda, Sousse, Al Marj, and Shahhat, in addition to the city of Derna, which suffered the most damage from the hurricane.
