White House spokesman John Kirby said that the United States remains deeply concerned about the raging conflict in Sudan and unequivocally condemns those involved.
He added that more than 25 million people face unacceptable levels of food insecurity, and almost the entire country faces violence.
He went on to say that the United States calls on the fighters to stop attacks on innocent civilians and allow humanitarian aid to arrive.
Sudan has witnessed violent fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since mid-April 2023 due to political and security disputes.
