We always pay attention to the nutrition of children and infants only. However, it’s also extremely important to care about fathers and grandparents’ nutrition.
This should be taken in consideration as they have reached advanced stages in life in which the bones and muscles weaken, and they experience a loss of appetite. In this sense, here are some tips that may be very useful.
*Proteins
The older you get, the slower you move. Hence, you need to acknowledge the different proteins in each meal in order to strengthen your muscles.
It is important to have meat, fish, poultry, lentils, and mushrooms in lunch and dinner. As for breakfast, you must have beans, eggs and chickpea.
*Good Fats
Good fats, like avocado, smoked salmon, and nuts are necessary as they provide the body with energy and vitality needed for vital processes.
*Hydration
The adult body is exposed to a lot of dehydration. Thus, adults must drink water to rehydrate the body.
They also need to drink sugar-free juices; especially fruits filled with fiber that help regulate bowel movement such as apples, watermelon and cantaloupe.
*Beneficial Bacteria
Yogurt and sour milk are useful and necessary in feeding the elderly, as they are rich in beneficial bacteria, and calcium, which is very important for bones.
