Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, has shared exciting news about Egypt's archaeological discoveries in recent years. He explained that since 2016, a large number of tombs have been discovered on the western side of Luxor, with more discoveries made in the Safara area in 2018. These finds have been a source of pride for Egypt and have impressed the world.
Waziri also revealed some of the specific artifacts that have been discovered, including a mummified cat and a lion cub that had never been seen before, as well as bronze mummies and mummified scarabs.
He further mentioned the discovery of underground wells containing 50, 157, and 37 wooden coffins, noting that a special warehouse has been constructed to hold these valuable artifacts, which will decorate Egyptian museums for years to come.
