Veteran Egyptian actor Osman Mohamed Ali has died at the age of 88.
He passed away on Sunday after battling with illness.
The late actor's funeral took place at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed after noon prayer and was buried in his family cemetery on Al-Wahat Road.
Last March, Ali suffered a brain stroke while filming on set.
He was transferred to a hospital in Cairo after falling in the studio. Afterward, Ali returned to his home in Alexandria, where he continued to be treated for his ailment.
Mohamed Ali was born in Alexandria in 1935. He is best known for his supporting roles in many films, TV, and radio shows.
The veteran actor began his artistic career in a number of radio series broadcast on the Alexandria radio. He is known for his roles in TV series such as "Raafat El Haggan", "Imam Al-Shafi‘i", and "Aelat Al-Hajj Metwali".
Mohamed Ali is the father of renowned actress Salwa Osman.
