Valentino to Go Fur-Free

Italian luxury fashion house Valentino shared Tuesday that its plans to go fur-free starting 2022.

The latest collection to include fur will be the fall 2021-22 season.

The couture house added its plans to focus on its signature line and to terminate its younger Red Valentino collection starting 2024. The last Red collection will feature clothing and accessories and will be for fall 2023-24.

Many designer labels have pledged to go fur-free over the past few years such as Michael Kors, Gucci, Burberry, Versace, and Chanel, seeing this as a step into more sustainable practices. Cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco have also taken steps to ban fur.
