Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev offered his condolences to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for the victims of the terrorist attack in Dagestan, Russia, affirming his country’s readiness to continue intensive cooperation with Russia in combating terrorism.
The press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan said in a statement on Telegram: "The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing his condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack on the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala in the Republic of Dagestan."
He added: "The President of Uzbekistan strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in Dagestan and expressed his readiness to continue intensive cooperation between the relevant structures in the two countries to face these challenges."
Sergei Melikov, the Governor of the Republic of Dagestan, announced early Monday morning that the death toll from the terrorist attacks on two churches and a synagogue in the republic had risen to more than 15, most of them police officers.
