The U.S. Ambassador to Libya Richard B. Norland said on Wednesday that granting confidence to the new government is an 'important step' towards holding elections in December.
In a phone call with Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh underlined the need to expedite the vote on granting confidence to the new executive authority "as soon as possible."
He added that the new government should respect the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) and the Cairo Declaration.
