On Tuesday, the US State Department put two Iranian officials from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on a no-fly list, accusing them of human rights abuses during Iranian protests in 2019 and 2020.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in a statement that IRGC interrogators Ali Hemmatian and Masoud Safdari, as well as their immediate family members, are no longer eligible for entry into the United States.
He added: “We will continue to consider all appropriate tools to impose costs on those responsible for human rights violations and abuses in Iran.”
