US Secretary of State Antony Blinken,held a trilateral meeting with his Japanese, and Philippine counterparts, on Friday in New York.
The meeting discussed ways to support economic resilience, deepen trilateral cooperation on energy, infrastructure and digital economy issues, and enhance trilateral security cooperation, including maritime domain awareness, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief efforts.
The three officials' meeting came, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, according to a statment issued by US State Department.
During the meeting, they reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and stability in the South and East China Seas, stressing their commitment to upholding the shared values of freedom, democracy and respect for human rights.
They also underlined their shared vision as equal and sovereign partners, for a free and open Indo-Pacific region that upholds international law.
