Three retired generals in the US Army have warned of a possible rebellion or civil war if the results of the 2024 presidential elections are rejected by some elements of the military.
In an opinion piece for The Washington Post, former Maj.Gen. Paul Eaton, former Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, and former Brig. Gen. Stephen Anderson said, "As the first anniversary of the deadly uprising in the U.S. Capitol approaches, all of us former senior military officials are concerned. They warned of growing concern about the fallouts from the 2024 presidential elections and the potential for deadly chaos within the military, which would put all Americans at grave risk."
"One of our military's strengths is that it is drawn from a perse population, the three leaders said.
It revealed that the US army includes groups of perse inpiduals, all with different beliefs and backgrounds.
But without continually conserving the army’s unity, the potential for a military collapse that reflects a social or political collapse is very real," the commanders explained.
These commanders saw that "there are signs of possible disruption in the armed forces.
They added that last January 6, an alarming number of veterans and active-duty military personnel participated in the attack on the Capitol.
Of the more than 1 in 10 accused in the attacks, he has a record service in the army," noting that "some service members may pledge allegiance to a "loser" of former President Donald Trump who refuses to admit defeat and tries to lead the shadow government. Under such a scenario, it is not surprising to say that a military collapse could lead to war eligibility."
The three retired generals feared that “if the 2024 elections are contested and allegiances are pided, there is the potential for a complete breakdown of the chain of command along party lines.”
And added that the idea of organizing rogue units among themselves to support the legitimate commander in chief cannot be discarded."
