US Presidential Envoy Steve Wittkopf announced, on Wednesday, the start of the second phase of Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Moreover, Wittkopf expressed his deep gratitude to Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their efforts, which enabled this progress in Gaza.
Speaking on the X platform, Wittkopf said: "The second phase moves from the ceasefire to disarmament, technocratic governance, and reconstruction. It establishes a transitional Palestinian administration of technocrats, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza."
"The second phase begins with the disarmament and reconstruction process in Gaza, particularly the disarmament of all unauthorized individuals. We expect Hamas to fully implement its commitments, including the immediate return of the body of the last detainee. Failure to do so will have serious consequences," he added.
